| LETTER TO THE EDITOR
20 February 2012
Sir,
On behalf of Saffron Screen, I would like to thank our audience for their patience and understanding during the recent difficult weather conditions and the changes to the cinema entrance due to the County High School’s building work. We’ve seen record audiences over the autumn and winter, and I’d like to thank the people of Saffron Walden for continuing to support their community cinema in such numbers.
For those who have not visited Saffron Screen recently but may be planning to come, I’d like to remind them that the entrance to the cinema is now around the back of the County High School. To reach Saffron Screen, please now enter the site via Copperfields, where you will pick up signs telling you how to reach the cinema. The reason for this letter is that we’ve had a few people getting lost through trying to enter via the old main entrance to the school, and we want to ensure that all our customers know how to reach us safely and easily.
Maps showing the new access route into the cinema are available on our website www.saffronscreen.com or can be picked up at the Tourist Information Centre.
For those arriving at Saffron Screen by car, please enter the school site via Copperfields. There is a new one-way access road which runs behind the Sports Hall around the back of the school, up towards the cricket pavilion. The cinema box office is opposite the top cricket pitch and there is ample parking close to the entrance including two disabled parking spaces available next to a ramp. The cinema remains wheelchair friendly.
Pedestrians are advised to enter the site via Copperfields, and follow the vehicle exit route by walking up the hill in front of the Sports Hall. At the side of the Sports Hall, they should turn left and walk between the buildings until they get to the playing fields where they should turn right, walk up the hill past the farm and continue to follow signs for Saffron Screen. Pedestrians can walk along the paths or carefully on the road.
Local taxi firms have been advised of the new access route.
Saffron Screen wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused by either inclement weather or building work.
